“Relax girl,” he smiled, wrapping his arm around her shoulder. “Our life revolves around fast cars and freedom, do you really think I’m going to give that up because of the accident? Besides, it’s just down the driveway.”

“None of us do Gavin. No one wants to see her go. And you don’t have to worry about that.” Aubrey responded, struggling to have a positive attitude towards Gavin. Gavin scowled at her. “How do you know that for certain? You aren’t a doctor! You sound just like Lucy two weeks ago!” he shouted at her, startling Aubrey as Dakota grinned at him.

Lucy frowned and rested a hand on his shoulder. “What? Gavin why is this your fault? This is no where near your fault.” “No, I’m being punished for a lot of things I’ve done in the past that you don’t know about.” Gavin sobbed, as his eyes began to water, but tried not to show Lucy. “Why could I have been the last driver, so she would have to suffer, and I would have to feel her pain, watching her helpless body before my eyes?”

“And you’re winner is…” the announcer hollered through a loud speaker, but he didn’t say anything about who won, because Devin had ran Denise off the road and into a tree, sending him and his car off a bank.

He glared down at Denise, who stared at him, not caring about what he was thinking. “Ha you don’t stand a chance against all guys. You shouldn’t even be in the race.” Devin grinned. She scowled at him. “You never said that girls can’t be in the race, besides you said it was four against four. And you really think I have no chance? Bring it on asshole!”

“You are so going to get creamed.” Denise chuckled, revving up the engine. “Oh yeah,” Gavin retorted. “We’ll see about that.” There was a light in the middle of them like you see in drag races. And the light went down to green. They squealed their tires and took off. “Woo Hoo!” Denise hollered, as she neared the first turn.

He stopped what he was doing and stood up once again, and walked up to her. “If I tell you, will you promise not to freak out or anything?” Lucy was confused and didn’t understand where he was getting at. “I can’t promise anything unless you tell me what’s up.” She stated, placing her hand on his arm, and he glanced down at it and back at her.

Mark shook his head. He had a feeling that this was going to happen, but he had to accept that. “That’s fine; I just want to make sure you are staying out of trouble.” Mark walked down the hall to his room, as Aubrey glanced over at him, confused.

*sigh* you had me at lesbian...there is just something soothing about a women not falling in love with me that is peacefull to me!

But then, this summer, they found each other again, and Karie found out how much Evan meant to her. Everything was perfect. Then Evan gets in a car accident and everything is ripped apart again. However, neither of them is ready to leave the other, and they are left with some Unfinished Business.
