I knew I was dreaming. I knew it because I have had this dream many times before, because it could never come true. I knew it but I could not make myself wake up.

          I was starting to get annoyed at myself. Why did I have to be so obsessed with that Twilight series? It was a fairly old book (well about 20 years) and no one else was reading it anymore. First it started messing with my days and now my nights. Even my boyfriend, Nathan, was a little frustrated, though he would never say so.

          Nathan, my boyfriend. How did I get so lucky? When he moved here about a year ago, he was the hot new mysterious guy everyone had a crush on, including me. He’s still hot and mysterious, even to me, but we’ve been together for about three months and we love each other. Who says you can’t feel love at 17?

          He tells me he loves me at least once a day, but I know he keeps things from me. He has his secrets. I don’t mind. If he wanted to tell me he would, and he wouldn’t do such a good job at hiding them. I only know about the little secrets because sometimes I hear him talking to himself to low for me to make out what he’s saying, but when I ask him about it he looks defensive and tells me it nothing for me to worry about and changes the subject.

          Now this dream was the same every night. Nathan turned out to be a vampire, among other things. Vampires aren’t real so that would never, could never happen.

          “Talilleah, time to get up for school.” My mom shouted at me from the other side of my door and down the stairs, waking me up. How did she yell like that every morning without getting depressed from her own screech?

          “Okay.” I yelled back hoping she could hear it.

          Yes my name is Talilleah. I know its weird but then so is my mom, and besides, I like it. When my mom Arianna was 13 she was talking with her friend Aleesha. Aleesha said my mom was going to get knocked up before she turned 16 and called naming it if that happened. Mother naturally asked what Aleesha would pick and she said Talilleah, which my mom liked. Then, unexpectedly, a year later on Valentines Day of all days, my mother got pregnant with me.

          That’s not even the cool part. My mom was born Oct. 31 1995 and I was born Nov. 8 2010, eight days after mom’s birthday. Plus Nov. 8 is also the birthday of mother’s best friend Shaily’s birthday, who is probably downstairs right now. Ya so I was born almost 18 years ago, the same year that the Winter Olympics came to Canada, where I live.

There is my mom, my step dad, my brother, and I living in our small house in Salmon Arm B.C. We live almost right beside the high school. Well at least the Jackson Campus. There is also the Sullivan Campus. Where you go depends on the courses you decide to take.

          My mother. Arianna was raised in a Christian family but has gone to church since she and the step dad married and moved away from Salmon Arm until my grandparents were dead. Then they moved back. The first time she had sex was with my biological dad, Josh. Mom and Josh were just really good friends but ended up getting drunk together and had some fun. Josh didn’t want anything to do with me so mother turned to the one boy she knew would care. She loved him but tried many time to break it off because she didn’t think she was good for him. Apparently he didn’t care.

          My step dad, Greg. He helped my mom through the hardest nine months of her whole life. He stood by her when she told her parents and was there when the friends found out. And then there was another set of nine months when it was his child.

My little brother, Nathan. He was named after his dad’s middle name, which is also my boyfriend’s name. It doesn’t normally get confusing because we call my little brother Nat. Nat was born July 1 2014 so he is almost 14. I have a lot of friends with July birthdays. Speaking of friends, I have to get to school.
