Straight hallway.
Narrow and never ending.
I dashed.
Didn't look back.
Too scared too.
Corner.
Finally.
Dart around.
Blood pumping,
Heart pounding,
Throat burning,
Pulse racing.
Tracking footsteps.
I sit.
Salty tears slither down my face
Like raindrops on a window
I have no friends to come comfort me
I have no teacher to come help me
I have no handkerchief to wipe my tears
I have no boy to wrap his arms around me
I am lonely
And sad
And afraid
And terrified
And exhausted
My cheeks were wet
And I scrambled off the floor
I did not look back
But instead ran straight out the school doors
