Anticipation

The clouds keep drifting;
Passing me by.
Like the day we keep fetching
When it's lost to the night.
It'd be crazy to look the other way
Turning the cheek as you pass by.
Wishes develop our patience
And in this way, flaunt our time.

I wish upon a star
And I pray to the night;
To give me direction
To tell me it’s all right.
To convince me it’s safe
Inside my own mind.

But the sky keeps moving;
Passing me by.
Like the stars it fletches
And shoots across the sky.
You'd be crazy to look the other way
Not trusting what has grabbed your eye.
Wishes develop our vision
And in this way, become divine.

And I wish for it to appear
And I pray to see it shine.
To brighten up my day
To rise when I decline.
To conquer the shadow
overwhelming the light.

I'm anticipating you tonight
