Dead silence in the wind and nothing but tears
as they pull the bodies of our freinds out into the clear
A drunk driver took their lives and he just walked away
and he'll have to live with that each and everyday
No one asked for this tragedy or this pain that we feel
but if it wasnt for the pain we wouldn't think it was real
The man that took their lives took his a few weeks later
and some might think with him gone the roads might be safer
But the feeling of his absence is hard for some to take
like the son he left behind when he pulled the trigger that day
None of us asked for all the stress and the pain
but if we dont let it go we'll all go insane
the talking and laughing will get better with time
but the one thing that will haunt us is the sadness inside
If people ask whats wrong just smile and walk away
because its not their fault they didnt know about that day
