Chapter 19
~One Goes Down, who is it?!
I splashed a little to keep my head above water. Aquarius had his hands dipped in the water and he was concentrating hard. Aquamarine paddled her way to me and helped me out. I looked up and saw That Aerial, Sacred and Jade was fighting Nero. I jumped out of the water and reached in my bag and pulled out his crystal necklace.
"We need to destroy it, it'll make him weak."
I watched as Aquamarine forged a weapon with water and nodded, raising. I placed it on the ground and she smashed it. Nero cried out with a gasp and grasped his shirt which covered his stomach. He bent over and spat out siliva, small dark swirls leaking out of his mouth as he looked up to us.
"You'll pay for that."
He growled and jumped at us. A rod smashed against his stomach and the force pushed him back, I turned to see Jade, the pointed scythe at hand but not making her bleed. She flipped her grasp on it and hacked it down like an ax. Nero only managed to dodge.
"Keep your eye on the opponent."
Aerial said punching his face with her brass knuckles and then rode in the wind near Sacred, who had her katana resting on her shoulder. She sighed.
"My oh my......."
She then lowered her blade.
"Thunder Clap!"
She shouted swinging her blade. Nero fell back into the water with the force and I pulled my gun, aimed and fired. The water was covered by a thick sheet of ice.
"Thank should hold him."
The ice began to crumble and I stepped back, holding my gun up.
"I spoke too soon."
The ice shattered and the four of us backed away so none of the ice would hit us. Nero's laugh echoed through air and he stood in front of us.
"Not bad Samantha, who knows, maybe you do deserve the title of a police officer."
I then pulled out my police gun and shot him in the forehead, his head jarred back and I held the gun up with my head down.
"Darn right I do, and my job is to protect the people of this town from dangerous people like you."
I looked up and watched his final seconds before he splashed into the water. I walked up a little and kicked his foot where he floated in the water his eyes were closed and besides the fact that he had a bloody bullet wound in his forehead he looked peaceful.
"Rest in peace."
His eyes then shot opened and I jumped back, he grabbed my wrist and pulled me under with him. I held my breath and tried to see in the dark water. What was this? The what, third? fourth time I've been pushed or pulled in the water?
You're Drowning Ice Dragon...........
I remembered the note from those weeks back, was he actually planning to kill me but drowning me? I fought against his grasp and he struggled to keep hold. I finally kicked free and swam up, feeling the bubbles escape my between my lips until I finally broke free.
"Samantha!"
Inferno shouted while grabbing my hands and pulling me up.
"Are you okay? Hurt?"
"I'm fine Inferno."
I heard something behind me and I pushed Inferno away. He landed on the floor with a grunt and I gasped as I nearly dodge his black spikes. I landed on the ground and looked over to see Nero slowly coming from the water.
"That really hurt Samantha."
He spoke rudely and watched me carefully as I stood up.and Inferno slipped off my necklace and quickly replaced it with his. He put the icy crystal around his neck.
"There's only one way to beat him, It's a combo attack called Cold Fire, the descendents of these powers created it one time. You need a certain amount of power from each mage in a great amount of focus. If we can combine our powers then maybe we can get rid of him with the Cold Fire."
"That's an excellent idea, but we need timing."
"We do, when I release my phoenix, Torch. You summon your dragon, Winter. While Nero is distracted with our creatures we'll combine our powers and take him down."
I nodded and focused hard, I pulled out my sword and it quickly clashed with Nero's. I gasped by his sudden speed.
"I'm going to drown you in the depths of Hell!"
"Oh really Nero, your home, how sweet, I'm really........honored."
I grunted pushing him away. I looked up and something jumped on my sword, I heard the ice cracking and I looked.
"Agh......"
I said trying to get rid of the critter on my sword.
"Only one shall win, Samantha, one goes down."
I swung my sword like a baseball bat and the nasty little critter soared through the sky where it was sliced in half. I turned my view and saw a griffon.
"We've got your back Sam, kick his butt!"
Aerial shouted. I smiled.
"That won't be a problem."
I then attacked him and he was smashed into a tree, I blocked his weapon and he blocked mine, I struggled.
"It's like you said."
I said as I slowly, struggled to move the barrel of his gun to his forehead, I smirked.
"Only one goes down......."
I then pulled the trigger.
